Regarding access to all images from your session, and to hopefully help you gain clarification, in order to provide thousands of families the same gift, over the years we have developed what we call our “standard gift” which is defined for you on our Consent Form. It is important that we treat all families equally, and providing a “standard gift” accomplishes this requirement.
When our photographers come to photograph, our goal is to create heirloom-quality portraits of your baby and capture images that most parents cannot capture on their own with a phone or their own camera. As any skilled photographer, our volunteers choose poses that at the time may be intentional or organic, and will take multiple shots of each pose with the intention of choosing the one from that group that best represents the image in their mind at the time. While several shots may be made of a single pose, no two shots are identical. There will be technical and/or artistic differences. In one shot an eye might be half closed, another the focus might be slightly off, a lock of hair over an eye, or a less than optimum camera angle. There is no thought or intention to put all the shots into the gallery. The photographer will choose the very best of each sequence and edit that image to their very best ability for the gallery.
Additionally, our photographers are trained to encourage families to also take their own photographs. This way, you would have as many of your own photos as you wish. In addition, you would have color photos and you would have pictures of your baby when the photographer was not there.
We hope that you can find peace and comfort with the gorgeous photographs that you do {or will} have. We also hope this helps you understand that in order to serve more than 4,000 families a year and growing, having a standard gift opens up our opportunity to serve more families who desperately need us during this devastating time.
