First of all, please accept our sincerest condolences for the loss of your sweet baby. We are glad that one of our photographers was able to come and photograph your baby.
In order to provide thousands of families the same gift, over the years, we have developed what we call our “standard gift,” which is defined for you on our Consent Form. It is important that we treat all families equally, and providing a “standard gift” accomplishes this requirement.
When our photographers come to photograph, our goal is to create professional heirloom quality portraits of your baby and capture images that most parents cannot capture on their own with a phone or their own camera. It isn’t unusual for a skilled photographer to take several frames of the same set up, especially during a session that is as important as a Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep session. Typically these images are virtually identical, and having multiple frames allows the photographer to select the image with the best focus, composition, and overall outcome. The photographer then retouches the best of the series and includes the final image in the gallery.
Additionally, our photographers are trained to encourage families to also take their own photographs. This way, you also have your own images in addition to the ones captured by your NILMDTS volunteer photographer. If you have additional questions please feel free to reach out.
